3-30-11

A showing from 6:30 - 7:30 tonight means...

time to go out for dinner!

3-29-11

Not only did Emily bring home this in her school work:

At dinner she proceed to tell us one addition problem after another.  "Did you 4 and 5 make 9.  6 and 1 make 7.  3 and 6 make 9"  Talk about making a parent/math teacher happy!

Emily's dance class is part gymnastics, part ballet and part tap.  The tap portion of the class is done in a room separate from the other two.  That means that 2/3 of the way through each class they parade into the tap room.  Emily lead the line tonight.

If you remind me, when I'm off the record and not putting it into writing on the Internet, I will tell you about the bizarre group of kids that makes up Emily's dance class this session.  I'm not at all shocked that Emily leads the line almost weekly.

As hard as this will be to believe, we've had a really hard time getting Katie to eat this past week.  For multiple days the only thing she would eat was cheese and apple sauce.  Today for lunch I decided she was going to eat and brought out the big guns...ravioli!

Worked like a charm!

Emily came home today and wanted to talk about her school work.  She showed me this picture:

I told her to talk about it with Nana or Grampa.  I know squat about flowers!

3-23-11

We've had a lot of traffic through our house, which is good.  We are always looking for feedback to see if there is anything that we can improve.  Most feedback has been coming back the the house shows very well, immaculate, great condition, but the buyer wants something bigger!  Ugh!  The only negative feedback was the eat-in area was too big.

So we made it a little cozier!  We're willing to try anything!

To keep life simple for showings, we left the highchair downstairs this morning.  Katie was a fan of sitting in the booster, but not eating in the booster.  I guess that means the highchair will be going up and downstairs every night!  Ugh!

3-19-11

We had a fun day with Amy and Grant.  Grant is a huge fan of smiling and having fun...until it comes time for group shots!  How could this not be the picture of the day!?!

Katie had her first timeout today.  How do you think she felt about that?

Why you ask?  I don't know, touching the hot oven after repeatedly being told no, eating cat food, and pouring out a bag of goldfish crackers on the floor.  It wasn't as much as a timeout but more a break away from one another...it was needed!

How do you Katie is a second child?

I let Emily take her down the slide at Chik-fil-a...and made them stall so I could get the camera on my phone ready! :)

Emily got to spend the day with Gramma and Grampa while we cleaned.  I think it's easier to see Emily got a much better deal!

I know, I know, another kid sleeping picture.  But check out how I found Emily sleeping this morning:

She was sound asleep like this!  This wasn't staged!

3-7-11

Okay, super, Emily can put the numbers is order from 1-30.

That's not really why I took this picture.  I got these cards at Target in the dollar aisle a while back.  (Probably more than a year.)  Lately I've been wanting Emily to learn her numbers better, so I got the cards out.  The box indicates that it has the numbers 1-100.  When I opened the box I realized that there weren't 100 cards.  I noticed there were numbers on the front and back.  Ugh!  Not exactly what I wanted, but I could work with that.  Then upon even closer investigation I realized that there were only 36 cards, meaning there were 72 numbers represented.  What happened to the other 28?  How were those deemed not important?  If I had known I would have paid another dollar for the rest of the numbers!

3-6-11

Mark and I had a lot of work to do on Sunday.  Knowing that we had a long day, I decided to take the girls to McDonalds for breakfast.  Emily was pleased with the plan.  I told her to go play while I changed Katie.  When I came in with Katie, I found Emily like this:

Apparently Emily couldn't wait!

By the way, Katie like's Mommy's pancakes much better than McDonald's.

Today we tried a new dentist.  (Our old one didn't take our insurance...who doesn't take Delta Dental?)  Emily thought it was awesome.  She got to watch Beauty and Beast.  She got watermelon toothpaste (gag!)  Then for her excellent job getting her teeth cleaned she got, a tooth brush, tooth paste, floss, Ariel sticker, balloon, two tokens to pick a prizes with, and ice cream!  I think we've found a new dentist for sure!

I'm also happy to report the dentist said he would give her teeth an "A plus!"  Music to a teacher's ears!

3-3-11

This is how I found Emily this morning when I went to wake her up:

Is it weird she thinks her stuffed animals deseve more space than she does?
